Range: The Pamirs-Altai to Inner Tian-Shan
Habitat: Steppe-clad slopes and sparse woodlands at 1,000-2,500 mtrs
Flight Period: July - August
Subspecies:
ssp. gultschensis (Grum-Grshimailo, 1888) - E. Alai, Inner Tian-Shan;
ssp. staudingeri (A. Bang-Haas, 1882) - Ghissar, S. Ghissar; Turkmenistan, Tajikistan;
ssp. tadjika (Grum-Grshimailo, 1890) - Darvaz, Alai, the W. Pamirs; Tajikistan.
Note: Chazara staudingeri (A. Bang-Haas, 1882) – this rare and poorly studied species (or form of Chazara kaufmanni) was indicated (ssp. tadjika (Grum-Grshimailo, 1890)) for the PATCA-KG-area in the Cadastre (Vol. 3, 1996; p. 228), but was not revealed here by the later investigation, and all three known loci undoubtedly confirmed with material (not ssp. tadjika (Gr.-Gr.) but ssp. gultschensis (Grum-Grshimailo, 1888)) are comparatively far out of Inner Alai (TOROPOV & ZHDANKO 2006; p. 370: map).
