Hipparchia caroli (Rothschild, 1933)

Type locality: Morocco

Range: Morocco (Middle Atlas, - Tizi-n-Tretten High Atlas)

Habitat: Cedar tree forests, sometimes venturing outside the forest or even on the edge of plateaus foraging on Thyme.

Flight Period: June to July

Notes:

Previously referred to as H. ellena caroli by Rothschild (1933), and H. alcyone caroli by Tennent (1996), it was elevated to species level by Tarrier and Delacre (2008).
