Hyponephele lupina (Costa, [1836])

Type locality: Italy, Bosco di Guagnano, Orranto

Range: From South to Central Europe, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Asia Minor, North Iraq, North Iran, West Mongolia and Afghanistan.

Habitat: Hot, dry, grassy and bushy habitats from sea level up to 2,000mtrs

Flight Period: Mid May to mid August

Subspecies:

ssp. cypriaca (Riley, 1921) - Cyprus;

ssp. intermedia (Staudinger, 1886) - Asia Minor, N. Iraq, Iran, Caucasus, Transacaucasia

ssp. mauritanica (Oberthur, 1881) = najera (Fruhstorfer, 1910) = celtibera Sagarra, 1924 - Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Spain

ssp. rhamnusia (Freyer, [1845]) - Sicily
