Pseudochazara hippolyte (Esper, [1784])

Type locality: From the SE. European part and S. Urals across Kazakhstan and N. Tian-Shan to Transbaikalia, Mongolia and N. Tibet.

Range: The Caucasus Major and Minor.

Habitat: Steppe-clad slopes, sometimes with rock, up to 1,500-2,500 mtrs

Flight Period: July to August

Subspecies:

ssp. doerriesi - S Siberia (Tuva reg.);

ssp. hippolyte (Esper, [1784]) – The Ural Mountains;

ssp. mercurius Staudinger, 1887 - N. Tian-Shan, Dzhungarsky Alatau, Saur and Tarbagatai.

Notes: I could not trace the author for the ssp. doerriesi.
